Maritime port Agreements are Nice, but Mostly Ineffective Without Pricing Authority

Several understandings have been recorded with the Government Oceanic Commission — vessel sharing assertions;
rate discourse agreement; joint administration agreement; understandings between nations; advertising understandings; and marine terminal understandings, among others.

So why did the East Drift Passage Terminal Understanding, recorded somewhat more than seven days prior by port administrators in Georgia and Virginia, get so much consideration?

Perhaps it was the abnormal stride those port administrators took in issuing a joint explanation to report the settlement. That move prodded articles in industry exchange distributions that utilized terms, for example, "imaginative" and "first understanding of its kind in the Unified States" to depict the arrangement.

Turns out, it's neither of those things.

There are, actually, almost 150 comparable settlements — called marine terminal understandings — recorded in the commission's online library, including a bi-state bargain marked in 2012 by the general population ports experts in South Carolina and Georgia.
