Again, Gridlock, Flood, stops Court Sitting in Apapa
As another working week started Monday, Apapa Magistrates' Court again were unable to concentrate because of another round of hardship confronted by commuters as the major rout prompting the port road were overflowed after an overwhelming storm that endured seven hours.
The passageway prompting to the court was overflowed as registrars, lawyers, prosecutors needed to off their shoes, raise their skirts or overlap their pants to the thigh to swim through the surge as they advance into the court.
Business cruisers prominently okada were seen doing energetic business as they charged N50 per individual to take them over the surge – a separation of under 100 meters.
It could be reviewed that the court suspended sitting a week ago due to the famous Apapa gridlock, which has turned into a bad dream to drivers and inhabitants of the port group.

A prosecuting counsel, Alexander Esebamen portrayed his experience to the media: he said, When I got to where the surge was, I needed to evacuate my shoes, move up my pants and ventured into the dirty water.
A woman, who gave her name as Ruth, who was at the court to record an archive stated, "I would have wanted to backpedal to the workplace, however I need to record the report in the court. I am terrified of entering the water."
She was however observed evacuating her shoes reluctantly to advance into the court premises.
More so, the Magisrate proved unable, and the court did not seat, for the second week running.
The flood maybe is the slightest of the suburbanites' issue. The appallingly haggard streets and gridlock has essentially made it difficult to cruise into Apapa nowadays.
Just yesterday, a major truck loaded down with flour fell, spilling its substance because of the immense potholes on the Ijora-Wharf street. The truck flipped over around Area B, Police Barracks Junction.
The drivers motor boy known as Tunde told the media that the hapless truck driver was really injured.
"I just observed blood spouting out of his head, hand and leg. He has been hurried to the hospital," Tunde said.
He was ask about his own particular wellbeing, he stated, "I felt a little torment in my leg however I am vastly improved at this point."
It is a similar story ordinary with truckers and drivers enduring the worst part of government disregard of its money cow. Many are shocked that the Federal Government is not prepared to spend an insignificant N10 billion to repair the road of the area that makes N140 billion from week after week.
