The Nigeria Customs Service Generated N898bn in 2016

The Nigeria Customs Service has produced N898 billion as income in 2016, including VAT, says the administration Spokesman, Mr Joseph Attah.


Attah told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday in Abuja that the figure was however not exactly the N904 billion gathered in 2015.
He credited the shortage to the trouble in getting to outside trade and evacuation of the 41 things.

As per him, the administration was given an objective of N937 billion as income in 2016.

"The strict request of the Comptroller General(Hameed Ali), on use of moment laws empowered the administration to create an aggregate that is comprehensive of VAT of N898 billion.

"On the off chance that VAT is evacuated, obligation gathering just is N720 billion, our execution speak to a rate of 76.90 for every penny.

"We will definitely improve in 2017,'' Attah said.
