Lagos—The Apapa Area Command of the Nigeria Customs Service has conceded that the container conveying 661 pump-activity rifles by the Federal Operations Unit, FOU, A, Ikeja of the Nigeria Customs Service, NCS, in Lagos a week ago was carried out of the ports without legitimate clearing process.

I can definitively disclose to you that no examination was led and It was not among the rundown of holders to be analyzed the day it was discharged. "At the point when containers are gotten, it will be conveyed for examination or filtering to figure out what it contained yet nothing of such was done on this." When inquired as to why it was discharged by the charge when it was not planned for examination, he stated, "no one but examination can uncover why the holder was discharged without checking or examination," he told our journalist.

Also, as opposed to suggestions that the cargo was implied for quick track, Ekpa said it was a typical container.for a while, clearing agent working at the Apapa port have blamed Customs officers for complicity at whatever point container leave the port without appropriate examination.
