He stated: "They are transportation organizations and terminal administrators charges, clearing specialists charges, Customs duty and the truck proprietors charges."For occurrence, if a 20ft holder is loaded with cargo worth N33million and it remains inside the ports for four day, then the shipper will pay an aggregate of N4.8million, utilizing the conversion standard of one dollar to N330. The installment covers from when the container left its port of source in China to its last goal in Nigeria.
"A breakdown of the N4.8million paid for four days by the shipper to all administrators at the port demonstrates that the delivery organization gets 13.8% of the sum as cargo; the terminal administrators gathers 1.4 %; the Customs gathers 81.7%; the clearing operator gets 1.7% and the truck proprietor/haulage driver gathers 1.4% of the sum.
"In any case, in a circumstance where the cargo remains in the ports for more than 20days, then the importer would need to pay more than N5million for demurrages. Installment to the Customs would at present be the most noteworthy at 77%.
