India and Iran Entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to Develop the Chabahar Port


India is hoping to begin operations at the Chabahar Port in Iran by 2018, as indicated by the nation's Ministry of Shipping.


The Minister for Road Transport and Highways and Shipping Shri Nitin Gadkari educated that the advancement extend at the Chabahar Port has just begun with civil construction work. Once finished, the updated port is set to support trade and business between the two nations and also in the area.

India and Iran ran into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to build up the Chabahar Port, situated outside the Persian Gulf, in May 2016.

Under the arrangement, India is to prepare and work two compartments in Chabahar Port Phase-I with a capital speculation of USD 85.21 million and yearly income consumption of USD 22.95 million on a 10-year rent.
