The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has asked Nigerians to consider smuggling to be a wrongdoing and bolster it to prevail in the war against smugglers.
Customs Public Relations Officer, Joseph Attah, made the interest on Monday in Abuja.
He said that the administration's hostile to anti-smuggling yield positive profit, including that in the previous three months, the administration had seized 136,506 sacks of rice.
"All Nigerians ought to consider smuggling to be a wrongdoing with the goal that they will bolster the administration to prevail in our progressing war against smugglers.
"Considering smuggling to be a wrongdoing implies that you will give noteworthy data that will help us succeed.
"As villagers that live around marginal, they ought to be of help to the custom officers at whatever point they make seizures and they are experiencing a few troubles, instead of supporting the smugglers against customers.
"In Nigeria when a hoodlum is captured or a thief is captured, you barely get the chance to see individuals going to ask for them.

"Be that as it may, today when a smuggler is captured you see Nigerians, incorporating some regarded ones in our general public, coming to ask for such people to be discharged in light of the fact that they don't consider carrying to be a wrongdoing; they consider it to be a trade," Attah said.
He said that a few Nigerians some times blame the NCS for not doing what's needed in its administration conveyance, including that it wasn't right for individuals to imagine that a smuggler must be effective when caught in dynamic conspiracy by custom officers.
As indicated by him, smugglers now exploit the penetrable borders, including that as a rule they are bolstered by villagers at the border and unpatriotic well to do people in completing their smuggling exercises.
"NCS can't 100% vouch for its officers like any other human association; it is absolutely wrong to recommend that each criminal movement must be with the conspiracy of an agent," he included.
Attah said that the administration would stay concentrated on its statutory capacity of authorizing government strategies instead of being occupied by habitual pettiness
He stated, "In our nonstop endeavors to stop smuggling, data, recommendations that can help the support of perform better are welcome from good matured people or association."
