A 57-year-old clearing agent, Vincent Ikekeregor, who purportedly got N14 million on the appearance of clearing two containers of wine, was on Monday charged before a Chief Magistrates' Court in yaba Lagos.
He was, in any case, discharged on bail with the sum of N500, 000 and two sureties.
The Chief Magistrate, P. A. Ojo, who gave the decision, said the sureties must be blood relations of the accused from the father's side, who must show confirmation of three years tax payment to the Lagos State Government.
Ikekeregor, whose address is unknown, is standing trial on a four-number charge of collecting cash wth false declarations, forgery, ownership of unlawful reports and stealing from the government.
Accused, be that as it may, pleaded not guilty of the offenses.
The Police Prosecutor, Insp. Romanus Unuigbe, told the court that Ikekeregor conferred the offenses at some point in June 2016 at Apapa, Lagos.

"Ikekeregor acquired the total sum of N14 million from the complainant, Timitimi Ebibomo, subsequent to inducing him that he could clear two holders of Our Lady Queen of Nigeria Mass wine.
"He was alleged to forge a Customs manifest dated Nov. 24, 2016 and Risk Assessment Report Number BA 0112016003352 dated Nov. 29, 2016.
"Ikekeregor likewise supported his deceitful demonstration by obtaining the execution of a profitable report to demonstrate that the holders were secured,'' Unuigbe said.
As indicated by the prosecutor, the offenses repudiate Sections 287 (9), (b), 314 (1), 322 and 365 (3), (f) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015 (Revised).
The case was suspended until Aug. 4 for specify.
