Mumbai: The Mumbai customs has suspended a senior custom officer for carelessness and misusing a traveler's pack. Geeta Patil, one of leaders of the distribution centers at the airplane terminal, was suspended after a traveler's bag was lost.
Ms Patil, who works at Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport alongside a sepoy were suspended almost ten days after the custom division found that the team had not alert the office about a traveler's pack being misplaced.
As per sources, an Indian traveler who touched base from Abu Dhabi had overlooked his purse close to the X-ray machine of the green channel. The sack comprised of a DSLR camera, a few chocolates and a jacket. The traveler, who misplaced his bag asserted that he had crucial pictures in the camera which he would not like to lose.
Sources said that in the wake of checking with different specialists, the traveler moved toward the customs office and informed them concerning the missing bag. As the bag was untagged, the authorities were not able find it at first.
