The three major oil marketers associations in Nigeria, tuesday met with the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Petroleum Equalization Fund (PEF) and Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency (PPPRA), and communicated their ability to resume importation of petroleum items, particularly petrol.
Significant Oil Marketers Association of Nigeria (MOMAN), Depot and Petroleum Products Marketers Association (DAPMA), and Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), were available at the meeting which held at the NNPC central command.
As revealed, the NNPC has for a while remained the real importers of petrol into the nation as a result of the failure of oil advertisers to get to outside trade at reasonable rates to import the product.
The company in its December 2016 money related and operations report expressed that despite the progression of the downstream part and government's intervention to facilitate marketers' entrance to outside trade for items importation, it remained the real importer of petroleum items.
In any case, to supplement items' importation and decrease the weight on the NNPC for unhindered supplies, the paper learnt that the oil marketers affiliations met with the partnership and other pertinent government agencies to resolve issues that relate to their operations.
